The Floyd County Sheriff's Office is accepting unused and out of date medicines from county residents at their office on the 4th flood of the Floyd County Courthouse from 8:30 to 4pm. MONDAY NIGHTS STARTING JAN 23rd

Back by popular demand, Harvest Church in New Hampton will offer the Financial Peace class once again this year. Financial Peace University is a 13-week class designed to help individuals and couples move in a different direction with their money. This class will begin Jan 23rd and will meet Monday nights at 7pm. Preregistration for the class is January 11th. The cost will be $100 which also includes a lifetime membership kit and other items. Because so many in our community are hurting financially and really could benefit from this class, Harvest Church is extending a special offer to refund $50 for any class participant who attends at least 12 of the 13 classes (after the conclusion of the class). The 1st ever womanless beauty pageant will be held at the Fredericksburg Community Center. It's a fundraiser that is sponsored by the Fredericksburg Cooking Club with funds raised going to support the swimming pool and expenses necessary to make repairs and improvements with the child sprinkler. Tickets are $12/person or $20/couple. Your ticket will be entered in a raffle for door prizes. Tickets can be purchased at City Hall in Fredericksburg.

The New Hampton Park & Rec as well as the New Horizons Chamber in New Hampton is sponsoring a Father and Daughter Sweetheart Dance which is for fathers (or grandfathers) and their daughter(s) to enjoy a night of dining and dancing. A professional photographer will be taking pictures beginning at 5pm, a spaghetti dinner at 5:30pm and dancing will follow until 8pm. This will take place at the Chickasaw Event Center, 301 North Water Ave in New Hampton. $25 per father/daughter and $10 per additional daughter. Registration is required, stop by the NH Park and Rec office and fill out a form by Friday Feb 3rd. Also of note, this is formal so please come dressed in your best!
